Music has always been an important part of my life. Unfortunately, when I was a teenager, the Enemy used music to seduce me and drag me away from God. I’m so thankful that God didn’t give up on me! My conversion came through a reading of Psalm 40. Just like the Psalmist, God gave me a new song to sing of praises to our God!
My wife Bodil and I met through music. We sang together in a choir at Newbold College in England. We also sang Christian folk music together. For the past 15 years, we have been composing Scripture songs. This journey began because of a desire to hide God’s Word in our hearts and in the hearts of our children. We often sing Scripture songs as part of our family worship.
From a humble beginning in our family room, the ministry of TRILOGY Scripture Songs was born. We currently have 6 TRILOGY Scripture Songs CDs that are played on over 200 Christian radio stations. We receive many wonderful testimonies at our website, Trilogy Scripture Songs, telling us about lives that have been changed by the Word of God!
“The Harvest” is a very special Scripture song to me for several reasons. It was the first song that my youngest son Jonathan and I composed together. That composition process was a heart-shaping experience for both of us! As a result of filling our hearts with those words of God found in Luke 10:2 and John 4:35, my ministry has also been greatly impacted. In 2008, I published a book based on this Scripture passage entitled “The Radical Prayer.” More than 40,000 copies have already been printed, and translations are being prepared in numerous languages other than English. A DVD series based on The Radical Prayer has also been broadcast worldwide on the Hope Channel.
Whenever I hear “The Harvest” I am reminded that I need to give the Lord of the harvest permission to throw me out into His harvest. The harvest truly is great, but the laboring laborers are few. It is time for each one of us to cry out to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest, and to give Him permission to begin with us!
